Fast Christmas drink sorted: Gingerbread cocktail recipe

We love cocktails at Freixenet. This one is easy, tasty & perfect for the season. Just what you were looking for.

Ho, ho, ho...Freixenet Cordon Negro & cocktails are good friends!This time we have teamed up with blogger Amelia from Xameliax.com to tempt you with a fast but effective Christmassy cocktail recipe. 

"There are lots of things I love about Christmas and food is one of them - cheese boards, mince pies, pigs in blankets and of course Gingerbread! I had a go at making Gingerbread Men for the first time this year and they went down such a storm they inspired this drink".

Ingredients

  • 1.5 Tsp Ginger Syrup (you can get this out of a jar of stem ginger)
  • 1 Tsp Triple Sec
  • 1 Bottle of Freixenet Cordon Negro
  • Orange Peel for Garnish...and optional Gingerbread Man to snack on!

Method

  1.  Pour your Ginger Syrup into your favourite flute (ours are from the LSA International Bar collection).
  2. Add the triple sec
  3. Top with Freixenet to about 3/4's full and stir with a bar spoon until mixed
  4. Top up the glass with more Freixenet and garnish with an orange peel twist!

What you're left with is a subtly spicy orange infused glass of bubbly that's perfect for sipping before your Christmas dinner to get you in the festive mood, or afterwards for a retreat.
